This plant regarded as toxic and used mostly for external applications to cure skin conditions. root thought be most active component plant. It an emmenagogue, abortifacient, alterative, carminative, stimulant, tomachic, vesicant. internally improve menstrual flow, cleanse blood, stimulate digestion, induce abortion. Leprosy, rheumatism, paralysis, tumors, headaches, toothaches, hemorrhoids, swollen glands can all treated with a poultice made from roots. A vesicant created using root-bark. leaves are applied headaches rheumatism. With regard taxonomy, morphology, medicinal applications, phytochemistry, pharmacology, toxicity, research has significant strides recent years. study seeks provide full information on such advances.
